ARGON

Argon is an inert gas and hence ideal for processes that use nonreactive atmosphere. The gas finds use in processes like inerting, blanketing and as a shielding gas in welding. Argon 39 is used primarily in ice-coring andwater dating. Argon is used in inflating scuba diving suites due to its nonreactive, heat isolating properties.

  • Argon (Ar) Industrial Grade: It is inert to all materials and at all temperatures and pressure and has lower thermal conductivity than most other gases. The low ionizing property allows easy formation of a welding arc without reacting with the metal being welded. It is used in welding stainless steel, welding of copper and alloys, plasma cutting and packaging of paints.
  • Argon Laboratory Grade: The inert nature, lower thermal conductivity and ionizing properties make it a preferred gas for various chromatography processes. It is also used in exclusion of air in the purging of various metals and alloys.
